Pregnancy & Postnatal Yoga

Pregnancy yoga classes can be a relaxing pit stop on your journey to becoming a parent. At a time of vast transformation both physically and emotionally pregnancy classes can help to support expectant parents through this time of change.

The NHS recommend that you remain active throughout your pregnancy see more information here. So whether you are a long time practitioner or a complete beginner you can join class from 14 weeks to birth, don’t forget to check with your doctor or midwife that class will be suitable for both you and your baby. Some of the benefits of yoga during pregnancy can be:

  • Bonding with your baby
  • Relaxation
  • Better posture which can help with backache
  • Relief from swollen joints
  • Can help to produce a more restful sleep pattern
  • Some positions can be helpful during labour and childbirth
  • Classes are pronoun positive

Q & A

Q. When can I start pregnancy classes?
A. You can start class from 14 weeks, please check with your midwife or GP first

Q. I have never done yoga before can I start yoga?
A. Yes! Pregnancy yoga classes are designed to cater for beginners through to regular practitioners. Plus as it is a one to one class it will tailored to your needs.

Q. I have X medical condition, can I still come to class?
A. The best thing to do is to give me a call or drop me an email and we can have a chat to see whether class will be suitable.


Q. I'm non-binary, and have found it difficult to relate to the binary language used in other pregnancy classes.
A. In our pre-signup chat you can let me know your preferred pronouns.

Q. When can I start postnatal classes?
A. This will depend on the birth route you have taken, after your 6 week check for a vaginal birth as long as your medical team are happy. C-section births require a longer period of recovery, so check with your medical professional when you can start back.
